This week, we are excited to highlight Ava as our Kid of the Week from the Lebanon Unit! Ava recently turned 11 and is currently in the fifth grade. She has been a part of the Boys & Girls Club since first grade, and we love having her here!
Favorite School Subject: Reading! Ava has always loved books and is currently reading The Giver.
Favorite Room at the Club: The Art Room. She enjoys all the creative projects, and for Valentine’s Day, she made a big heart filled with smaller hearts that detailed all the things she loves.
Favorite Memory at the Club: The day she first met all the staff! Ava remembers being so excited when she found out she would be coming to the Club that she “started dancing in the Kroger parking lot.”
Favorite Staff Members: Tatum and JaBryel.
What Ava Loves About the Club: She enjoys getting to know new people who come to the Club and making new friends. The Club feels like a second home to her, and she loves coming here with her siblings.
Future Goals: Ava dreams of becoming a 2nd-grade teacher because she loves playing school and helping others learn.
Hobbies & Activities: Ava stays active by playing softball, basketball, cheerleading, and running.
Ava’s Favorite Celebrity Encounter: Ava has already met Caitlin Clark! She says Caitlin was super nice, really funny, and had a great personality—which Ava believes is important for a basketball player.
Fun Facts About Ava:
- She LOVES milkshakes—especially Steak ‘n Shake’s cookie dough and cookies & cream flavors.
- She has very bendy arms and is double-jointed!
