March Staff of the Month: Bryan

Mar 24, 2025

At the Boys and Girls Club of Boone County, we are thrilled to recognize Bryan Maxwell as our March Staff of the Month! Bryan has been a dedicated Program Coordinator in the Games Room for an impressive ten years, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a deep commitment to the kids he serves every day.

More Than Just a Job

In the Games Room, Bryan ensures a safe and engaging environment for the youth, organizing activities like game tournaments, skill development sessions, and exciting contests. However, he is so much more than his job description. To many of the younger kids, he is affectionately known as “Bry Bry,” a mentor who teaches them about rules, fair play, and life lessons—all with a smile and a great sense of humor.

A Passion for Growth – In More Ways Than One

Beyond the games, Bryan has a passion for gardening, which he shares with the kids whenever he can. He’s taught them how to grow their own vegetables and even encouraged them to try new foods they may have never experienced before. His love for creativity also shines through in his art projects, where he enjoys giving the kids an opportunity to work together and create something as a team.

A Few Words From Bryan

Why do you love the Club?
“I love building relationships with the kids. It’s a lot of fun, but it also comes with a big responsibility. I enjoy interacting with them constantly and watching them grow.”

Favorite part about working here?
“Primarily working in the Games Room, I love watching the kids learn new games, work through challenges, and grow as they overcome obstacles.”

Describe the Club in one word:
“Fantastic. I love my job and can’t imagine not being here.”

Advice for new staff?
“Learn the kids’ names, their interests, and what they’re about. If you don’t take the time to know them and understand their lives, you don’t truly know what’s going on. Building those relationships makes the Club a safer place.”

Anything else?
“I work great with Lauren, our Financial Administrator, and I really admire her and her work ethic.”

Thank You, Bryan!

Bryan’s dedication, kindness, and enthusiasm make a lasting impact on the kids and staff at the Club. We are incredibly grateful for his ten years of service and all the joy, wisdom, and support he provides to the young people in our community. Congratulations, Bryan, on being our March Staff of the Month!
