For over two decades, Glenn Sanford has been a constant source of heart, hustle, and dedication within the Boys & Girls Club movement. With 24 years of service—17 of those with Boys & Girls Club of Boone County and 7 with Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis—Glenn’s journey began with a simple invitation to coach a youth basketball team. That moment sparked a lifelong passion for serving young people.
“I was asked to coach a Boys and Girls Club basketball team that needed a coach,” Glenn recalls. “I loved the experience.” That love for coaching quickly evolved into a full-blown calling—one rooted in creating opportunities and safe spaces for kids to grow and thrive.
As Zionsville Unit Director, Glenn wears many hats. Not only does he lead day-to-day operations at the Club, but he also holds a Class B CDL license and personally drives the Club bus year-round, ensuring kids can attend after school programs and specialty camps. It’s just one of the many ways he goes the extra mile—literally—for the youth he serves.
When asked about his favorite part of the job, Glenn doesn’t hesitate: “Seeing the positive impact we make on a child’s life.” Whether it’s helping a member unlock a new talent or simply offering a listening ear, Glenn’s work is grounded in deep, meaningful connection.
One memory that stands out to him? Taking kids on a field trip to a state park. “Seeing their faces when they realize places like that really exist in the world” is a moment he’ll never forget—a reminder of how the Club opens doors to new experiences and perspectives.
Glenn describes his Club journey in three powerful words: Integrity, Heart, and Soul. And that passion extends beyond the Club walls. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, cooking, and spending time with his family—often bringing the same warmth and energy to his personal life that he brings to work every day.
So what makes the Boys & Girls Club so special to him? “I was a Club kid,” he shares. “It was the first place I felt like I belonged and could make a difference. Now, I get to share that experience with my children.”
Thank you, Glenn, for pouring your integrity, heart, and soul into the Zionsville Unit and for making a lasting difference in the lives of so many.
